Note: He operated the farm his parents had been farming before his
fathers death. In 1962 he was awarded Outstanding Young Farmer
by the Northfield Junior Chamber of Commerce. In of 1965
Garry became interested in flying and took his flight
training while still engaged in farming. He leased the farm out
in July 1967 and took a position in St. Louis, Mo. as a flying
instructor for Interstate Airmotive, Inc., Lampert Field. Six
weeks later , Aug 30, 1967, while testing out a student pilot
the plane hit a power line and crashed. Garry was killed. His
wife Shirley and the children continued to live at 1325
Bluefield Drive, Florissant, Mo. 63033. (DNH EHH)
