Note for:   Amos Thompson,    -          Index
Note:   It is said he died in Michigan on his return from a journey to
the east, 1839. Another and later report was that on the eve of
a proposed visit to Vermont, he died, he probably never left Mt
Pleasant, Wis., where he had lived. The remaines of a body,
headed up in a whiskey barrel, which many years later were
ploughed up in a field near where he lived, seems to indicate
foul play. (HG p467)
