He was shot down, wounded and missing in ac tion for a while, but survived the war to become a successful corrugate d box salesman for Longview Fibre Company of Springfield, Mass. [S1062] [S1088]

Notes

Timothy enlisted for the military in Wethersfield and in Sep 1781 moved t o Pittsfield, Mass., were he met and married his wife Olive. He applied f or a pension on 28 Aug 1834. After his death his widow applied, in Pittsf ield, for a bounty land warrant on 22 Mar 1855 and was issued BLW #2028-1 60-55. He learned carpentry from Josiah Francis, of Wethersfield, afterw ards he became a farmer. He applied to be exempt from church taxation i n Pittsfield. Until about 1819 family spelled name 'Hurlburt' after it wa s generally 'Hulbert'.
