Olive Mae Lindell is debating the name William vs Willard - neither of u s has the proof yet.
Source: 1860 NY Census Index William, Mary and John all shown on pag e 352 as residing in Steuben County @ HORNELLSVILLE - perhaps this is th e same community that Ed Hurlburt later resided in when he worked for th e railroad.

So, Willard was also a soldier in the Civil War. ( source: The Ontario Co unty (NY) Records and Archives Center ] - from an email of Olive Mae Lind ell: 'Livingston Co. just has the commission Officers listed fro the Civi l War like you mentioned. The Ontario History has them all listed but fro m the towns in Ontario County. If Willard enlisted in Ontario Co. he woul d have been from Mt. Morris and didn't get on Ontario Co.list because hi s residence was not there.
The only Willard HURLBURT recorded on the 1860 Census Index ( from FT M ] 1860 PA Census Index Willard, Hurlburt PA CRAWFORD CO. RANDOLP H TWP 649
That is probably why Lydia and Willard were living with David and Elizabe th parents in 1870 census. I think Lydia was 18 in the 1870 census.

Willard, Walter or Jane/Jennie may have descendents . I am skeptical tha t Doir has any. When I am searching I never think to put his name in an d search. Last we had track of him he was in the Rochester area.
