Lucinda Ralston's family came from Ohio in 1842 in a covered wagon. The y first stopped at a place in Avena Township, Fayette County, Illinois. N ot liking this place, they moved on up around Springfield, Illinois. Tha t not bing to their liking they went down to Missouri. Still not satisfie d, they returned to Illinois, settling in the same township where they ha d first stopped in 1843, about 2 1/4 miles form their first stop. [S92]
