Notes

Homer was raised in Springfield, Mass and was a 1924 graduate of Colgat e University in Hamilton, New York.
He worked for General Motors after graduation in such exotic places as M ukden, Manchuria and Tokyo selling Chevrolets.
During this period he had a very unhappy and short lived marriage to a w oman named Sally, which ended in divorce about 1930. There were no child ren.
When the Depression came he was let go and returned to the United States , working at many temporary jobs until reinstated at general Motors in ab out 1938. In this period, while working for a music firm in Salt Lake Cit y, he met and married Eliza Anne Wheelon, daughter of a famous irrigatio n engineer in Utah and Idaho. They moved to New York to take the Genera l Motors position.

Leonard and Anne (as they were known), lived in Brooklyn 1938-40; Mt Ver non, NY 1940-41; Westwood, NJ 1941-43; Mt Vernon again 1943-66; Brandon , Vt (after leonards retirement) 1966-75; San Diego and El Toro, Ca 1975- 84 and Vienna, Va 1984-85 were Leonard died of a heart attack at age 84 . Anne moved to California where she lived with her sister in El Toro, Ca . and then a retirement home in Santa Ana until her death at age 90 in 19 92.

Leonard was an avid singer, singing in choirs and barershop quartets fo r many years. He could complete the New York Times crossword puzzle in in k without making a mistake! [S1062]
