I was recently at Green Wood Cemetery where Henry Carlton Hulbert is buried with his two wives and
some of his children. The plot where they are buried is a large monument with the names HULBERT and
BASSETT on the stone. There were 2 graves there that I did not know what there connection to the
Hulberts were, perhaps someone
could answer this question for me:
Elizabeth H. Bassett Holt
w/of Alden R. Sexton
b. May 3, 1903
d. Nov 19, 1973
Henry Holt husband of E. H. Bassett
b. Nov. 29, 1887
c. Feb. 5, 1956
I know that H.C. Hulbert's mother's
names was Cynthia Bassett. Please reply if you can help.
Thanks,
Julie

Quote from the Vermont Gazetteer Vol II, p.242 "Among the earlier navigators of the Lake and the
Champlain Canal were Several Georgia (VT) men Reuben and Eben and Reuben A. Hurlburt - Halabird...
were well-known and trusty commanders of sailing vessels and pilots of steam ships." I am looking for
these men's birth places and parents. I know Reuben A. Hurlburt (real spelling Hurlbut) died 16 Mar 1790,
was buried in Georgia VT and his wife was Betsey. He was born about 1735, and I don't believe he was
born in VT.
